Why does summer feel so hard? Here are a few reasons:
- Your Routine Gets Thrown Out the Window
School's out. Travel's in. Bedtimes shift. Work slows down or ramps up. Basically: chaos.
👉 Without structure, our habits lose their anchors.
- Food Freedom Becomes a Free-for-All
You’re at the lake, the barbecue, the girls’ trip, the patio happy hour...
And suddenly it's chips, s'mores, and "I'll start back Monday" on repeat.
- More Socializing = Less Intentionality
You’re saying yes to more fun—and sometimes, that means saying no to your workouts, meal prep, water, or sleep. (Been there!)
So here is how to stay on track without sucking the fun out of summer
- Shift the Goal from "Perfect" to "Present"
You don’t need to be perfect—you just need to stay aware.
Maybe you don’t track every macro on vacation. Cool.
But maybe you do still start your morning with water, a walk, and protein.
Tiny consistent choices >>> big extreme efforts.
- Anchor Yourself with 3 Daily Habits
Pick 3 things that keep you feeling your best.
Examples:
- Start the day fasted
- Get 8,000+ steps
- Eat protein at every meal
- Strength train 3x/week
- Hydrate like it’s your job
Summer doesn’t throw you off if you know what to hold on to.
- Plan the Fun (and the Fuel)
Yes, enjoy the burger. Yes, sip the margarita.
But plan to fuel your body around it.
➡️ Have a nourishing breakfast
➡️ Bring your own veggie tray
➡️ Stay active on your trip
It’s not all-or-nothing, it’s all about intentional balance.
- Stay Connected
Accountability matters most when routine is loose. I encourage my clients to:
check in with their group. Jump on a challenge. Text me their concerns.
I’m here to remind you that you’re not “off track”—you’re just in a different season, and you’re still making progress.
Final Thought:
Falling off track isn’t failure—it’s feedback.
It’s a chance to check in and say, “What does aligned look like for me this summer?”
You don’t need to choose between results or fun.
You get to have both.
Strong habits + spontaneous joy = your best summer yet.
Let’s live it fully—and feel amazing doing it. ☀️💪
