Dec 10, 2025

The holidays are here, and with them comes the twinkle lights, the gatherings, the joy… and the chaos. December has a way of sneaking up with extra everything: extra events, extra food, extra emotions, extra busy. For many women over 50, this season can feel like a tug-of-war between wanting to enjoy every magical moment and wanting to stay on track with your health, energy, and goals.

Here’s the good news:
You don’t have to choose.
You can savor the season and stay aligned - with a little intention, a little simplicity, and a whole lot of grace. Here are my six tips.

  1. Focus on Your 3Ws: Water, Workouts, Whole Foods

When life gets wild, go back to your anchors.

WATER

Start your day with hydration. Set out your bottles the night before, keep one in your bag, and refill as you go. Hydrated women make better choices - and feel calmer.

WORKOUTS

You don’t need perfection. You need presence.
Move your body in whatever way fits your day: a FASTer Way workout, a brisk walk, a dance session while cooking, anything that keeps momentum alive.

WHOLE FOODS

Aim for real food most of the time. Protein first, plants often, treats tracked with zero guilt. Every whole-food choice grounds you and stabilizes your energy when the holiday swings hit.

  1. Protect Your Energy, Not Just Your Calendar

Parties, errands, hosting, traveling - December stretches us.
The question is: Are you honoring your energy or outsourcing it?

  • Build in margin between commitments
  • Say no when your body says no
  • Keep boundaries sacred (yes, even with family!)
  • Choose quality over quantity - in food, events, and obligations

You deserve to enjoy the season, not just survive it.

  1. Eat with Intention, Not Restriction

This is not about dieting your way through December.
It’s about being strategic so you can enjoy everything you truly love.

Try these holiday hacks:
Eat protein before parties
Never “save up” calories - it backfires
Fill half your plate with color
Choose the treats that are WORTH IT
Slow down and actually taste your food

When you honor your body, your body honors you back.

  1. Find Moments of Joy - Daily

Joy doesn’t just happen. It’s created.
And in the busy season, it’s easy to forget that small joys count, too.

Try:

  • A favorite mug with hot tea
  • Cozy pajama nights
  • A short winter walk with a friend
  • Lighting a candle while answering emails
  • Listening to a holiday playlist
  • Saying out loud one thing you’re grateful for

Joy is a wellness strategy — not a luxury.

  1. Let Go of Perfection and Embrace “Good Enough”

Here's a holiday truth bomb:
Perfect is not the goal. Present is.

Your workouts won’t all be perfect.
Your meals won’t all be perfect.
Your schedule won’t all be perfect.

But you can stay consistent, conscious, and compassionate with yourself.
Progress > perfection always… but especially now.

  1. Remember: YOU Set the Tone

The holidays don’t control your health - you do.
You get to decide how you show up, what you focus on, how you fuel yourself, and how you enjoy this season.

Choose intention.
Choose grace.
Choose presence.
Choose the version of you who feels strong, grounded, joyful, and in control  - even when life is swirling around you.

Because the truth is…
When you set the tone, you savor the season.
